The Charles Booth Online Archive Charles Booth's inquiry into the life and labour of London people (1886-1903) documented the poverty and human suffering. He interviewed people from all walks of life and created detailed poverty maps (1892-1897) of the city which can be browsed online and compared with London maps (2000). Surname searches of those interviewed are available and it is possible to check a street address to see the poverty or wealth level assigned to that street.
